Have you been keeping up with National Volunteer Week this year? Perhaps you’ve been inspired to look for volunteer opportunities in Surrey and its surrounding areas, or maybe you’re looking for ideas to recognize volunteers and show that you appreciate them in your own organization. Whatever you’re looking for, National Volunteer Week is definitely a time for your community to celebrate and inspire one another. Throughout the month of April, Options Community Services will be unveiling the stories of each of its featured volunteers on this website.

Check out our first story on Sharon, Volunteer for the Surrey Volunteer Centre. After she retired, she looked for ways to keep up her busy, on-the-go lifestyle.  Sharon now volunteers at the Surrey Volunteer Centre, helping clients in their search for the perfect volunteer position.

This week, we’re featuring Geoff of the Evergreen Transition House.  Geoff is a landscaping wizard and has spent the last few years creating a garden where children can play safely, and women can find peace of mind.

Keep an eye out as we reveal more stories about our featured volunteers.  Make sure to Like Us on Facebook and Follow Us on Twitter!
